What is a podcast?
A podcast is a web feed of audio files placed on the Internet for anyone to subscribe to.
How do I listen to or view a podcast?
An audio podcast can be listened to on your computer or portable audio player (iPod or MP3 player).
How do I receive a podcast?
A podcast receiver can be downloaded. Once a podcast receiver is downloaded you suscribe with the URL above. Each time a new podcast from The Shield is made available your podcast receiver automatically downloads the audio file.
Where can I download a podcast receiver?
The Shield's podcast will work with any podcast receiver. Of the many choices The Shield recommends either iTunes or Pubcatcher. Pubcatcher is produced by North Carolina Public Radio-WUNC and iTunes is produced by Apple. NOTE: If using an iPod, iTunes is recommended.

Suscribing to The Shield's Podcast in iTunes
1. Start iTunes
2. Click 'Advanced' at top of screen
3. Click 'Subscribe to Podcast...'
4. Paste to following URL without quotes: 'http://www.thompsonnetnc.org/Podcast/TheShield/podcast.xml'
5. Click 'OK'
6. Your podcast will be saved under the podcast tab on the left side of your screen
